NTC temperature sensors are widely used, primarily for temperature measurement and monitoring. Solar water heaters are quite common in households; they include a solar water‑temperature tank, also known as a storage tank, which is mainly responsible for heat retention and water storage.
The structure of a solar water‑heating tank typically comprises an inner tank liner, an insulation layer, an outer shell, end caps, upper and lower water inlets, a vent hole, an overflow port, a drain outlet, and an electric heating port.
How does it work? There are two different types of solar water heaters:
1. Vacuum-tube solar water heater: Solar radiation passes through the outer glass tube of the vacuum tube, is absorbed by the specialized selective coating on the inner surface, and then transfers along the inner wall to the water inside the tube. As the water heats up, its density decreases and it rises, creating an upward buoyant force that establishes a thermosiphon circulation. As the hot water continuously rises and accumulates in the upper part of the storage tank, cooler water flows in from the opposite side of the tube, sustaining this cyclical process until the entire tank reaches a uniform elevated temperature.
2. Flat-plate solar water heater: The heat-transfer fluid circulates naturally within the collector plate due to thermosiphon action, promptly transferring solar radiation to the storage tank. Alternatively, a pump can be used to circulate the fluid, ensuring a continuous supply of heat and maintaining a stable water temperature.
