工业锅炉上会用到温度传感器。通常PT1000的反应灵敏度比PT100高，测量温度范围是-200 – 800度。
PT1000适合测量小量程温度变化（原因是温度变化一度，阻值增减和减小3.8欧姆，后级电路容易检测），PT100适合测量稍大量程温度变化（原因是温度变化一度，阻值增减和减小0.38欧姆），有些场合二者都可以使用。
