A temperature sensor (temperature transducer) is a device that senses temperature and converts it into a usable output signal. As the core component of temperature-measuring instruments, temperature sensors come in a wide variety of types. Based on the measurement method, they can be classified into two major categories: contact and non-contact. According to the materials used and the characteristics of their electronic components, they are further divided into thermistors and thermocouples.
