Smart water dispensers are truly incredibly practical. Inside, they typically house two NTC temperature sensors that regulate temperature, each corresponding to a high and a low set point. Leveraging the negative temperature coefficient of NTC thermistors, when the water reaches the designated temperature, the higher‑temperature sensor triggers the thermostat to cut off the power, preventing overheating that could boil the water dry and damage the appliance. Over time, as the water cools to a certain threshold, the lower‑temperature sensor re‑engages the circuit to resume heating.
