Introduction to Temperature Sensors

A temperature sensor (temperature transducer) is a device that senses temperature and converts it into a usable output signal. As the core component of temperature-measuring instruments, temperature sensors come in a wide variety of types. Based on the measurement method, they can be classified into two major categories: contact-type and non-contact-type; according to the materials of the sensing element and the characteristics of the electronic components, they are further divided into resistance thermometers and thermocouples.
